Aborted due to issue with stage two. Next launch attempt might be Jan 9th at the earliest. Via webcast for anyone who missed it.
The issue was apparently drift in the actuators that positioned the second stage engine.
Where did you get this information from?
"During the terminal count engineers observed drift on one of the two thrust vector actuators on the second stage that would likely have caused an automatic abort. Engineers called a hold in order to take a closer look. SpaceX is scrubbed for today and we are now targeting launch on Jan. 9th at 5:09am ET."
Both the nasaspaceflight.com forum and the Nasa TV webcast.
Too bad... but a lot better than losing a rocket.
I agree. Unlike Kerbals, we are wary of potentially catastrophic outcomes. :) Ah well, next attempt on Friday!
The one second launch window made any hold an abort :(
Why was the launch window that short? Matching trajectory with ISS?
Yeah. Given that the ISS passes overhead at ~7km/s, a little delay in launch time would mean a lot of catching up to do.
