Ok, so this is going to be controversial, but...do we really need people to keep making art? At least as a profitable venture?
There's already more art, music, movies, books existent than I could ever experience in a hundred lifetimes, and there's no reason to think that recently-created art is better or more interesting than older art. It's not like it's getting stale. Would it really be that bad if artists stopped making art? If people don't want to pay for it, maybe artists should stop? Eventually maybe society would want to pay for it again?
