Not sure why the above statement was downvoted. The three major expense areas in every family's life: - housing (the rates depend on the market) - health care (12-15%/year) - college tuition (5-8%/year, perhaps a bit lower recently) have been inflating at a rate far greater than the official CPI rate for quite a few years now. The declining price of big screen TVs cannot offset the above.
