Ling's Cars is intentionally bad. It's part of her brand. At one stage she had a site map which was laid out like a concentration camp, with the various visitors to the site shown in different sections with a stick-figure whose head was the relevant browser logo.

Ling gave a good talk about it, you can watch it here http://www.besquare.me/session/the-future-of-digital-marketi...

Ling is a marketing genius - that site is incredibly successful

This is actually brilliant... and funny. I stayed on the website and browsed it for the last 15 minutes.

I want that as my screensaver.

It may shorten my screen's life, but it will be a life well lived.

That rotating planets almost killed me.

Nice effect though

My Eyes! The goggles do nothing!

2 sites does not equal a trend.

You might see shitty design, I see brilliant one. This site looks like mail order Catalogues from the nineties. Kid in me cant stop screaming "I want that, and that!" Information density is phenomenal.

It loads so slow that seems loaded by AJAX :P

I'll raise you the (archive.org copy of) Yvette's: https://web.archive.org/web/20110629022027/http://yvettesbri...

That thing is running on Yahoo! Is it an old Viaweb site?

Now we know where Pinterest got the UI idea...

Contains some content that might be NSFW.

Microsoft FrontPage 5.0 to be exact, lol
