Sad stuff. Somehow I have hope that things will work out: that it won't all be a waste, that people's minds won't just atrophy. That this will be a opportunity to think different, get creative and scrappy, and focus on non-financial pursuits. But who knows. Maybe this really is a societal-level rot that will linger into older age... I sure hope not.
