Why do we need to guess who they are?

They are a public company listed on teh TSX. Did we nee to guess who Google was when they put in an offer for Motorola?

Not sure of the OP's point, but when I saw Fairfax, first thing I thought of was Fairfax County: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairfax,_Virginia

Well-known Canadian conglomerate, mostly doing insurance and reinsurance, but with some other operational buisnesses. Headed by Prem Watsa, often called the "Warren Buffett of Canada".
