I have Ctrl on Caps on all my keyboards and my main keyboard, a Happy Hacking Keyboard[1], comes with the Unix layout* anyway.

Why Esc? For Vim?

*Control instead of Caps, Delete above Enter

Pro typers frequently remap Caps Lock to backspace. Backspace/delete is in an inane position on most keyboards.
