We need to teach Germans to push back against artificial, external rules that limit them. Not sure jaywalking is the best rule to start with...
Limit them how? What is it that you think the Germans are suffering from that requires them to be more like the residents of Silicon Valley?
German here: I found myself much more limited by artificial, external rules when I lived and worked in the states than here in Germany.
I think we germans are doing alright actually
figuratively in startups, maybe, yeah. Not that I condone breaking the law, but startups like SideCar, Uber, Lyft and AirBnb wouldn't be around if there wasn't a bit of an appetite for breaking the rules and risking getting in trouble. More of a mentality thing.
Hey, Kim Dotcom(megaupload) is actually German and he surely did risk (and managed) to get in trouble with the law for his startup, so not all Germans are completely risk-averse ;)
