That's an interesting theory. Doesn't it stand to reason that if that were the case, then in a situation where low-content comments were acceptable, the same people would post low-content comments which disagreed (e.g. a simple "No.")?
I'm not sure it necessarily follows to the extremes, but I do think one could find places where absurdly short disagreements are the norm. 4chan, say.
