How does this work for proprietary software, or stuff that requires installation keys or authorization? Say Office 2011 or sublime text 2 or some other paid app (whether in the app store or not)?
You can use Boxen to install Homebrew and then (with puppet modules which you may have to install yourself) you can use Boxen to manage/install Homebrew packages.
