Well, I don’t have that luxury ! I’m old, I do have a family to support, and I’ve been out of work for 6 months at a time recently, under financial pressure.

I still feel the same way.

I don't think anyone care too much about their job as you put it in your first message.

Even the article itself: they care about "having a job", not having that specific job. And they care about it in order to "make a living".

If the threat of becoming homeless and/or starving to death isn't enough to warrant some degree of emotional perturbation on your part, then I don't know what is. You may be taking the whole stoicism thing too far.

Let’s put aside the ad hominems and engage on the actual issue. You are free to disagree respectfully.

Can you please explain how anything in my comment could be construed as disrespectful or ad hominem? An ad hominem is "a rhetorical tactic of attacking the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than the substance of the argument itself" [1], not just "a phrase that upsets me."

Not OP, but I don't see snark. I see terse disagreement.

Both sentences are snarky but "You may be taking the whole stoicism thing too far" is definitely snarky
