i also re-read this as an adult after having read it in school and not really gotten it. I don't have any more talent for literary interpretation than back then, but it's funny how much more interesting everything is as an adult. The murder scene grabbed as well as any modern thriller.

Agreed, the murder scene is very realistic in its "make it up as you go along" feel to it. Really also liked the scene where Raskolnikov, after days of carrying the tremendous burden of guilt and shame of these murders, finally confesses what he did to Sonya. You could feel this enormous weight being lifted off his shoulders. Both great scenes.
