I use dwm. It seems to be able to handle tiled and floating windows with no problem.

dwm is only a window manager, not a desktop. Which is fine, but it’s not the most fair comparison because it’s not dwm vs KDE, it’s dwm vs kwin. Or dwm + 20 applications vs KDE.

I see your point; you did say “only desktop”.
