Wrong. Massachusetts allows voter registration affidavits to be used as voter IDs. Those are free.

Strawman. Nowhere did I claim that every state gives out "a general-purpose free ID." The free IDs for voting in many states are not general purpose.

I even alluded to this in my comment, which you conveniently left out of your quote. This is not an ID card, so you’re incorrect.

This is a acceptable ID for voting in Massachusetts and is free to obtain. QED.

Because you were so blinded by being proven wrong, you misread my OP and poorly straw manned. I am correct.

You created a new account just to evade a ban/shadowban and to mostly re-post your dead post from a couple days ago, which I already read and dismissed as incorrect. Stop it, and get a life.

Your original post, in its entirety, was:

Massachusetts does not have a free ID card. QED, LOL, etc.

If you'd like to retract your statement and reword it to something like "Every state in the US has a free method or process to prove one's identity that works for voting" then I'd be much more inclined to agree with you (though I'm still not sure of this either). But not every state in the US has a free ID *card*.

This is a meaningful distinction because non-ID-card-based identity verification processes like in Massachusetts often need to be repeated for every election, creating more work for the voter, preventing mail-in or at-home voting, and leading to less voter turnout.
