Parler was "ripped off the Internet" because it was delisted from app stores and dropped by AWS for violating their ToS due to having (If I remember correctly) approximately zero content moderation, which is not really compatible with the mainstream distribution model they wanted. The owners were not subjected to sanctions by a foreign government.

"They promoted and hosted violent/terrorist activity."

What kind exactly?

Check the <li> near the bottom. Some are named, such as Armed Proletarian Justice, Revolutionary Class Self-Defense, and Jane’s Revenge, but some unnamed ones as well (at least their actions have been described).

How are the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq doing?

I heard MS13, and Tren de Aragua.

Gotta love how you provide a clear, cogent answer to his question, and so people downvote you.

A/I wasn't like protonmail; they specifically provided IT support to terrorist groups, who would often be violent and would sometimes kill people. I mean to thoroughly vet your users and then make the services anonymous is a wild thing to do, all while encouraging violent users to use your site.

They are neutral. So violent terrorist activity is cracked down via their provider. So called secondary sanctions.

Unless the US government ripped parler off the Internet, this is not a sensible comparison.
