Food and rent are not affected by tariff money. Food is grown locally in the US more than nearly any country, so people will survive if their solar inverter is $205 instead of $200 (and the asshole that imported it is paying $100 instead of $50)
You don't have to take my word for it though! I don't even know why you're trying to make this argument when you can just go look through a grocery store and see how much more expensive food is now than just a few years ago.
