The deep problem is that insurance is a highly profit driven business in the US which basically go against what a good insurance should look like.

Profit-based, dividend paying insurance should be banned. Only non-profit insurance should be permitted.

If you think the solution to the world's ills is to organize businesses as non-profits, you're delusional.
