I must have imagined the hang Mike Pence chants. You know his kids were in the building, huddling in a secure location and could hear those chants. They probably also saw the noise they made for him during subsequent news reports.
The capital police saved lives that day and prevented assassinations. Some of those officers died from injuries sustained by the attack on America.

Oh, that's just locker room talk. You know, "That Mike Pence, he sure is hung."
There were a number of of deaths during the capitol attack, including a police officer who suffered a stroke a day after being beaten by the rioters. And there was certainly a lot more violence.
Multiple people died as a result of the January 6 riots. Which cities burned down in 2020? I'm curious whether I know any refugees.
I have, um, opinions, about Jan6, 2020, etc. but regardless of those opinions at the end of the day all these things are all rooted in legitimate grievances people have. The fact that the grandparent missed that entirely is incredibly illustrative of "it's going to get worse before it gets better".
