WHAT!!! Are you serious? System programming language are not interpreted as far as i know... They need low level calls, I suppose. They need to be fast, I suppose...
Well it depends. If by "systems programming language" you mean something you write kernels and drivers in then you are correct. But there are a lot of utilities, etc that are written in scripted/interpreted languages. That is broadly what Google use Python for. They certainly didn't write map/reduce in it.
