Wow, anybody who finds the environment at airports to be "liberating" is having a very, very different experience than I have at airports.

If I'm just travelling, airports are liberating; it's the beginning of a journey, long or short. If I'm indulging in my hobby; it's the start of an adventure, flying a light aircraft.

It does feel liberating to me after you get through security and you have nothing to do except just chill and wait for boarding. There's no sense of guilt, no sense that you should be doing something that you're not.
