I think their facetious point was "windows does nothing more for the user than Linux" which I tend to agree with, care to share some examples of what windows does better than Linux besides forcing you to update, forcing you to use edge browser and showing ads on your start menu?

Windows has market share because they got a contract in the late 90s and 2000s with the department of education to put it on school computers when school computers were just becoming a thing. That is the only reason.
