I believe the disconnect is that many don’t or can’t jump through the hoops required for cashless.

a) relationship with ATT/Verizon/major carrier to establish your phone number

b) relationship with Apple/Google to establish your MFA/passkey

c) then you can you use Apple Pay and banking apps on your mobile phone. (Does Google still have Google Pay?).
