Even ignoring everything else: "making jobs" is a bipartisan good move. No one is ever going to carry on the promise of "I will make less jobs" and survive long in office. And the last thing you want when you're pretending the economy is good when it isn't is to further raise the unemployment rate.
This is a false promise.

What do we have to show for all that deregulation? Bunch of environmental progress reverted, underfunding the organization for pandemic prep when a global pandemic hits, less bite behind anti trust investigations. Regardless of my stance on these, how do any of these bring down the price of groceries or not price out people on rent?
