It's amazing to me (former Texan) how the state is just shamelessly pushing so hard in the opposite direction of Good in almost every single dimension. Want to know what side of things history will land on? Pretty much see how Texas is handling things and do the opposite. It's always been an authoritarian culture there, but now they don't even try to hide it anymore. If they weren't constrained by being part of the US, it would be like Saudi for christians.
