I hope the news is they've added an Opt-Out for uploading all of the tablets data if you want to download a PDF to it.

As far as I'm concerned their Cloud Sync feature ruined a useful tool. Some people, think accountants, doctors and lawyers, are contracted to not share client data. So can no longer use a reMarkable for taking notes.
