Climbing over the gate doesn’t even need a screwdriver

The gates exist to keep out people who don’t know how to do that. The people with that level of skill+motivation are _going_ to get in, and shorting some contacts is probably a less destructive way for them to do it.

And your front door lock is easy to pick, so what?

These gates are like having a garage door, they are not meant to be ultra high security. Most of the models I know of in the US use a key and lock to open the box but again, not really meant to be high security.

You don't even have to pick my front door, all you need is a rock and an understanding of how it would interact with glass.
