It's not great, but not exactly "rapidly declining standard of living". "Negative gdp growth" can be argued either way depending on what time window you're using.

Miraculously, the US has managed to achieve positive gdp growth and a rapidly declining standard of living.

Agreed. Yellow cabs were and are great. Have lived in NYC all 36 years of my life. Delivery drivers used to get paid fairly before door dash too.
