If it was an exact copy fine, but it's not. This is ridiculous. Imagine Margot Robbie sued a film producer for using Jamie Presley when she turns down a role or Michael Cera for Jessie Eisenberg.

Yes, but this doesn't sound like her, it's merely similar to her, and there is no contract between her and OpenAI.

This is not the point, as stated by Ms Johansson's statement, her own friends could not tell the difference which is the point. If a reasonable person cannot tell the difference, there is none. In combination with seeking a prior agreement to use her voice this sounds quite dubious at best, malicious at worst.

Suddenly all the media companies and social media pundits have forgotten how to upload audio media samples alongside accusations in text, they might not want to reach reasonable people. The outrage is proof enough.
