I use -pattern_type glob on Windows without issue. Not sure how long I've been using it, at least a year, possibly two. This is what I use:

    ffmpeg -framerate 30 -pattern_type glob -i '*.jpg' -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p out.mp4
