> Current release: TeX Live 2023
And at least the official Windows installer will still install TeX Live 2023, I tried that earlier today when this story was submitted.
But it will be later today, probably:
> 13mar: release TL and MacTeX.
As usual, let people pre-seed the mirrors and wait for the release. We see that same issue on HN with Linux distributions all the time.
> The official web page for “Acquiring TeX Live as an ISO image” hasn’t yet been updated with this year’s torrent file, but Karl Berry tells me that should be happening within the next day or so.
Again: the installer installs 2023.
The torrent file at https://www.tug.org/texlive/acquire-iso.html at the time of this writing is still the 2023 TeX Live ISO, and so yes, _that_ installer will install 2023 TL.
That said, I'm sorry it's sowing confusion. I can see where you're coming from on that score.
In a sense, by starting to seed last night, I really was "preseeding" so that by the time the announcement is made, there are at least several seeders already available to service the many new leechers who will only begin torrenting once the official web page is updated.
