I think the issue is with auto-focus lenses. Manual lenses have been available. Did some searching and looks like Canon is now licensing to 3rd Parties to manufacture RF lenses but none made it to the market yet.
aha, that would explain the distinction, my 3rd party RF lenses are all manual focus.
my favorite of the latest crop has been a 50mm f/1.4 tilt lens, manual focus of course.
