Sigma 15mm F/1.4 DG DN Art Review: Wide, Weird, and Wonderful

This in a way reminds me of the Nikkor 13mm non distorting lens. If there's a lens I would like to see make a comeback today, that would be it.

It also reminds me of the Nikkor 8mm fisheye that was used to represent HAL 9000 in 2001.

I wish we could make full frame large aperture lenses smaller, I’d sacrifice quite a bit of sharpness if this lens was 1/4 the size.

This is freaking amazing. Modern lens design is fantastic.

Did Canon start letting 3rd parties to manufacture lenses for RF mount?

I don't know if it was a "start letting", but I have multiple 3rd party RF lenses purchased through normal retail, not grey market.

I think the issue is with auto-focus lenses. Manual lenses have been available. Did some searching and looks like Canon is now licensing to 3rd Parties to manufacture RF lenses but none made it to the market yet.

aha, that would explain the distinction, my 3rd party RF lenses are all manual focus.

my favorite of the latest crop has been a 50mm f/1.4 tilt lens, manual focus of course.
