Right. I wish modern DAWs and digital instruments let the user choose from a wide variety of tunings. I'm not arguing that equal temperament is always what will sound the best for a particular composition.

Many DAWs stay out of tunings and leave that for the individual virtual instruments. There's a standard for that named Scala (yes, also a language).
