How does 2/3 - 1/3 not sum to 1/3? 2-1 is 1, right? What am I missing?

2 up quarks, so 2/3 * 2 -> 4/3. And then 4/3 - 1/3 = 3/3 = 1

Ah ha, I thought it was 1/3 per quark. Thanks.
