I'm curious whether you've figured out a good monetization strategy for Atuin. The article doesn't answer that question.

Like you said, you won't be paying your rent with sponsors any time soon, but you've already quit your job. Are you living on your savings, and trying to come up with valuable paid features meanwhile? Is it the plan?

Correct! I do already have a bunch of ideas I'd like to explore, will share more soon.

I'm lucky to have had a pretty good career so far, so my savings are more than enough for the next year or so

I'm a big fan of keeping tons of bash history. I have an idea for your tool: allow per-project history tracking. I do this myself for some projects using some bash history hacks: https://blog.gpkb.org/posts/project-local-bash-history/

It allows this out of the box and you can easily change search modes with CTRL+R (directory, global, workspace, host, session):

That is pretty cool! I would recommend this tool to people like bioinformaticians and scientists who do a lot of work on the command line.

It’s already supported; you can ctrl + R from the atuin interface to filter for commands run in your current directory.

I can't seem to scroll with the arrow keys on your website (ellie.wtf). Is this intentional? Really annoying at the very least.
