He simply said he doesn't want to live in a place with those values, which values he links to a certain degree of disregard to the lives and health of his daughters. Seems more intolerant to try to attach approbation to someone's expression of their opinion.

Would you like to go live in NYC or SF? In addition to citing the exorbitant cost, you probably reckon you might not like living in those places from a cultural perspective. Nothing wrong with that; I personally have no desire to live in SF, and I wouldn't want to raise a family in either place.
