Wow Korea's gaming market is a economy in it's own.

I recently watched the opening ceremony for the finals and it blew me away how much effort went into the production for this event.

That's just how Riot does Worlds now, it's not specific to Korea. I was at last year's Worlds in San Francisco and it looked like it had a similar production value.

Twitch shutting down in Korea will most likely not stop Riot Games to keep hosting the World Championship in Korea.

Also, from what I understand, Twitch is marginal in Korea, since they have their own alternative streaming platforms.

This is incorrect, Twitch has been very popular in Korea.

Do you know what's the audience share of AfreecaTV and Twitch in Korea? I can't find the information.

Twitch 2.46 million, Afreeca 2.3 million.

after some discussion with my friends I agree this seems to be the case

I'm sorry this is irrelevant to the current discussion, but you replied to one of my comments a couple weeks ago, and I can't reply there, so I'm leaving a response here.

This was a great outdoor set and stage for the finals of an Overwatch tournament over 5 years ago.
