This seems like such apt on the nose social commentary, poignant. Are the calls for censorship just abided when asked for? Are there any checks or restrictions on flagging on HN? Can flagging get overruled, and by whom and when?
Yes, de facto, it's flag stuff you don't like and/or otherwise do not want gaining attention.
I have sometimes seen "vouch" options but I guess maybe those permissions got removed. Because I ragged on the UK's fascist internet surveillance bill as horseshit, I think? So now I am unable to help others keep their voice. The systems here are undocumented & opaque & it sucks & is sad that hackers are subject to such unclear whims with no transparency & no way to negotiate for speech, of themselves or others.
