Github is going through the same enshittification as many other tech companies. Features are being made so that management can show their team is up to something useful.
Agreed. The good news is that so far most (all?) of the enshittification-oriented changes have been easy to ignore. Gamified badges? Who cares, I never look at the profile any way. Feed of bullshit recommendations? Who cares, I never look at it. Now, it probably is still a bad thing, but as a daily GH user, it hasn't impacted me much so far.
