Cherry-picking three famously disgusting big cities doesn’t prove that filth and lawlessness is a necessary consequence of urbanization. What about Seoul or Tokyo?

Houston is 3x the population of SF, and it's nowhere near as filthy downtown.
Houston is a political boundary with a population 3x San Francisco. It’s not a city or anything.
