Well, it makes the project unprofessional. What is perfectly ok, but you don't want to use it professionally.

They have every right to that choice, and they state it very clearly, so nobody has any right to complain. But yeah, it is a very good reason for not using the language.

Oh, sure, next time I talk about a project, you can make sure to extend it to anybody involved too. You can even extend it to a country or some other random group; it's a proven way to spice the discussion.
