People seem to forget why people used to get called "Glassholes". It wasn't because they were tuning out with augmented reality (that part was hardly noticable anyways), it was because there was a giant goddamn camera built into the frame.
The reaction to the dad recording his kid in VR should make this clear - indiscriminately pointing a camera array towards stuff is weird. It's weird even when there's just one camera. People hold their smartphones parallel to the ground to avoid looking like they're recording people. It doesn't matter who does it, really - it's just weird.
