Agreed. Trying to fix depression with drugs is a bad move for most people. They usually cause long term problems with continuous use and lead to psychosis and suicidal ideation in a large!!! number of patients.

We don’t. Studies like this are specifically searching for mechanisms by which serotonin and mood are related.

I think you’re projecting the pop-culture idea of serotonin on to the research.

Anecdotal, but I had depression episodes on weekly basis for 4 years, then started to microdose mushrooms for completely different reasons, and it is almost 2 years now, when I barely had a single such episode.
