writing software, like writing books/essays/poetry, it's a highly creative and analytical process; tiny variations in content could potentially lead to massive consequences that may only be noticeable when released into the wild. most issues these industries face are not on Quantity or Speed these days, but on Quality, Proofing and Integration.
