A document camera. Just an ordinary webcam, but pointed straight down at a blotter. It's much nicer than all of the "whiteboard" options I've tried.

For home use, Logitech have just recently released a webcam for this: https://www.logitech.com/products/webcams/brio-500-webcam.ht.... Built in tilt stand and an internal vertical image flip when pointed down.

For commercial setups (or personal use where money is no object): https://wolfvision.com/en/products/vz-c6.

What is the camera mounted on? Do you have a picture of the setup?

Most document cameras come with their own stand. I have an IPEVO VZ-R [1], which you can route through your capture card with an HDMI switch if you already have that kind of setup. Being able to draw on a piece of paper to explain a concept feels amazing compared to whatever drawing tools one otherwise would have in software.

That looks amazing; I just use a $50 webcam on a DIY arm with lots of zip ties, and I'm pretty happy with it.

It's on a springy swing arm from a decapitated lamp. Googling for "camera swing arm" brings up a few images and products that look better than my hackjob.

I'm using a simple support arm[1]. It is not even a camera, as I mounted a smartphone running a remote webcam app[2].
