You know, we don't have to release an AI that obsoletes a large number of people and creates previously unseen levels of unemployment and social unrest.
If you (Company A/USA) doesn't release it, then someone else (Company B/China) will.
Or maybe China's government wouldn't want to create a ton of unemployed ppl
It only needs to be released by one entity. Better to figure out what to do when it inevitably arrives, rather than trying (and failing) to avoid the eventuality.
By this logic nuclear armageddon needs to be released by one entity, better be the first to strike.
