If you can be remote, to an exec, they might not see it too differently between you and offshore, except for how much better the bottom line is. We're even hiring roles that I thought I'd never see moved over there, too, like Product Managers.
I bet we'll see this trend increase.
Since this is my second go at offshoring everything. Compared to 2015, it's not nearly as cheap to go get offshore talent. It used to be about 1/6th the cost, now it's about 1/2....
I'm curious about other's experience with this. I took current job because we were a very tech-driven, high performing, highly-skilled company, and I never thought we'd move engineering jobs overseas to improve the bottom line.
