Isn’t this a bit like saying that cars will never replace horse-drawn carriages, as they max out at 5mph, but might be useful for cleaning up manure?

Or perhaps Ke Jie who claimed that he would be able to beat AlphaGo, after seeing Lee Sedol beat it in one game. AlphaGo won easily.

This is not a criticism per se, everybody else in this thread is also assessing AI from its current capability, when OP asked about future capabilities.
