The final clue lies in your suggestion that "the west is trying to crack 'unity' of the Chinese people" when the original comment is simply praising the Chinese people for their bravery as they try to get their freedoms back.

Conversely this Chinese government(?) viewpoint miss-interprets western values in that it’s possible to both be supportive of and critical/protest one’s government at the same time.

And actually it’s one’s civic duty to help improve the government. What country is perfect? It’s odd to say a country is perfect or because a government accomplished a lot in the pastcitizens should be content and stop expecting further improvements.
