To expand on this idea a bit, I don’t even drink soda. I don’t really use most of the company perks, and I would probably succeed in a moderate version of Musk’s culture.

And yet.

I think those cultural artifacts are a sign that at the end of the day the company will treat will respect you, respect your work and treat you as a whole person.

It’s both, they’ll give you the autonomy to own your work and won’t get mad at you for missing work to be at the birth of your first child.
